What’s all this about the Disney Credit Card – the reward Visa? Well, years ago, it used to be that only adults could qualify for credit cards. But all that has changed with the introduction of the Disney credit card. This new card has been designed for use by both adults and children alike.

This particular rewards card offers reward points which the purchaser can then redeem through Disney for a wide variety of perks, products and special offers. These points are usually gained though every purchase of $100, the purchaser gains 1 reward point. But, the nice thing is that each point is worth one dollar when being redeemed through Disney! And you can get special Disney merchandise, admission at the Disney theme parks, or you can even use your points to stay at the Disney hotels. And it goes without saying: you can customize your Disney card in many different ways. Sometimes they even have different options of having your favorite disney character displayed on the card itself. So you could get mickey mouse, minny mouse, donald duck, pluto, beauty and the beast, or any number of other disney characters on the card to really dress it up and personalize it. Which is nice, as most rewards cards like the nordstrom credit card aren’t usually quite as flexible

This card also gives you access to such things as VIP tours, special keepsake photos, Disney Friends portraits, Character Meet ‘N’ Greet Events and many, many more things. Even when redeeming points for a stay at one of their hotels, you won’t have any blackout dates – so you don’t have to plan your holiday around anyone’s schedule other than your own! But if you do go, try to go during the off-season, or the crowds can be overwhelming!

The meet and greet can be one of the most amazing experiences a child will ever have, as they can meet their favorite disney character in person. But the great thing is that there is a private area just for cardholders to get their own personal meet and greet with the characters. So you get the v.i.p. treatment and don’t have to wait in line with everyone else to see them, or hope to just happen to run into your child’s favorite character as you walk around disneyland.

You also get a discount on any purchases that you make in the disney store. For any purchases that you make over fifty dollars using your disney credit card in the disney store, you will get ten percent off of your entire purchase. Which works out very well, as I’m sure you (or at the very least your children) will want more than a few souvenirs from disneyland when you get there. And if you’re like me, every little bit that you can save when on a holiday or vacation with the family is very important. So this nice little automatic savings could come in handy!

You can also get other savings in the theme park as well with your disney credit card. You can get special vacation financing on your disney vacation (as we have mentioned before), the ten percent off in the disney store (either in the resort itself of in disneyworld itself), but you can also get select savings when eating out. There are some participating vendors and restaurants that will give you an additional ten percent off of the cost of your meal when you use your disney credit card. Again, when travelling with your family, every single cent that you can save is extremely important!

In addition to all of this, you can also get twenty percent off of some of the guided tours offered at disney world and the different disneyland resorts. So if you really want to make sure you see everything and enjoy a very unique experience when at the resort and get the v.i.p. treatment, why not go for a guided tour? It will be an experience that you and your family will never forget. And, you save money anyways (again, up to twenty percent off) when you use your disney credit card.

Many times as well throughout the year, Disneyland will release exclusive discounts for only the people who actually have the disney credit card. In some cases, you can earn up to thirty percent off of your purchases or travel accomodations. For example, if you are travelling between October second and december twenty fourth, you can save up to thirty percent off of your room at disneyland (depending on which room you stay at).

There are always little details that you must be aware of when redeeming these deals, such as if there are any sort of blackout dates (which there can be over certain dates), or when your vacation must be booked or completed by. Or other things, like the maximum number of guests staying in each room, and pretty much everything is subject to availability. But often times cardholders will get advance warning of such savings and will have the chance to book before the general public to lock in these deals.

But for the savings, if you are going to make the trip anyways, it would be a fantastic idea to check into it!

The Disney Rewards Visa Card is a very competitive card as well, charging 0 percent interest on purchases or balance transfers for the first six months that you owne the card. So this allows you to really stock up on the Disney reward points for your holiday without incurring any interest costs. After the introductory period is over, (depending on your credit history and worthiness) your interest rate will generally fall between sixteen and nineteen percent.

The only catch to this card is that if you are late on a payment, then the introductory rate of zero percent interest is removed from the card. Also, if you make 2 or more late payments within the first six months of having the card, you will be charged an interest rate of just over twenty four percent.

But this sort of thing is pretty much standard across the board when dealing with any sort of credit card or credit card companies. They offer you a great introductory rate based on your personal credit worthiness, but if you are late or do not make a payment, then they take away the introductory rate. It is standard practice. It is how they make more money, so make sure that you are really dilligent when it comes to managing your finances and your credit cards whenever you get a new credit card – even the disney credit card.

So, all in all, the Disney credit card is a great card, but you need to read the fine print and watch your spending in order to really cash in on the benefits of owning this credit card.
